Mechanical Valve

One of the challenges we had to face was the engineering and the production of a double ball valve, light enough to be handled by hand on a platform. Further to this we were asked to find a way to connect the valve to a threaded pipeline avoiding the rotation of the valve itself.

In response to these challenges the valve was produced in titanium, limiting the weight to 16 kg, while the connection to the pipeline was granted by a threaded 3” Swivel connection weighing 3.5 kg.

This allowed us to respect the maximum given weight of 20 kg.

The valve was used for the insertion and the extraction of corrosion probes with lines under pressure.
