Floating

model A21, A42, A43, A44

In a floating ball valve the ball is supported by the seats themselves rather than by trunnions: line pressure pushes the ball against the downstream seat, providing the seal. Valland floating ball valves are the standard choice for small bore, low-to-medium pressure isolation duties where a compact, economical and reliable valve is required.

The range covers models A21 (standard floating), A42, A43 and A44 — including double block and bleed (A42) and single block and bleed (A44) executions — designed to API 6D with sizes from 1/2" to 8". Seats are available in soft sealing or metal-to-metal execution with hardfacing; all valves feature anti-blowout stem and antistatic device, and are fire safe tested per API 6FA, API 607 and ISO 10497.

Floating ball valves are regularly supplied within larger Valland packages: the Santos Barossa FPSO project (BW Offshore, Australia) included A21 floating and A42/A44 block-and-bleed floating valves among its 182 valves, and DBB floating valves in super duplex F55 were supplied for the BP Rumaila field (Iraq) through Petrofac.
