Valland carries out complete Finite Element Analysis on its valves, 100% in-house — not subcontracted — using up-to-date ANSYS software. FEA is a standard step of the Valland design process: internal procedures require verification of the contacts between obturator and seats on every new design, predicting the valve’s behaviour in real working conditions before manufacturing.

For subsea products, the analysis covers the complete valve to determine the influence of external pressure on the sealing systems designed to prevent seawater infiltration. On customer request, Valland supplies complete analyses of external loads acting on the valve — including bending and blast load cases — as well as verification of static and dynamic contacts and temperature influence.
