special testing

Beside standard hydrostatic and high-pressure gas testing, Valland performs special testing at its Piantedo plant.

- Cryogenic — for working temperatures down to -196 °C, per BS 6364;
- High temperature — valves tested at design temperature (up to 550 °C tested on delivered projects);
- Fire Safe — determining the resistance of a valve to burn under controlled conditions;
- Bending — simulating in-line pipeline stress conditions;
- Fugitive Emission — checking the sealing areas using pure helium or specific gas mixes, per ISO 15848;
- Endurance — cycling the valve through a very high number of operations;
- PR2 / Type Approval — testing per API 6A PR2 across the temperature range, with a high number of cycles and final component inspection after a standard FAT;
- Hyperbaric — localized stem-area hyperbaric testing in-house; full-valve hyperbaric testing managed through qualified external facilities.

Additional tests can be performed on customer’s request.
